Troubleshooting

Symptom Cause Action
Liquid drops out from the tip, pipetted volume incorrect Tip is loose push tip on tightly
The shaft nut is loose tighten the shaft nut
The sealing surface damaged replace damaged parts
The piston damaged or seal worn out due to extensive use replace damaged parts then wash the housing and lubricate the seal and o-ring with silicone lubricant
The tip is damaged or worn out due to extensive use replace the tip with a new one
Droplets of air appear in the aspirated liquid The pipette tip immersion is too shallow immerse the tip deeper accordingly to the instruction
Liquid is aspirated too fast decrease the speed of aspiration
The pipette tip is inadequately pressed onto the pipette cone press the tip harder
Droplets of liquid remain in the pipette tip The pipette is emptied too fast decrease the speed of pressing the pipette pushbutton
The tip wettability has increased due to extensive use replace the tip with a new one
